Lauren Smyth
1992
I kick started my playing career when I was just 3 years old. Rugby has always been a passion for me and my family. 2017 was where rugby took off for me. I travelled to compete in the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas. And the following year, I was granted dispensation to play for my local region the Ospreys women’s at only 17 years old. Following this achievement I went on to earn my first Welsh international Senior cap in the autumn internationals. I represented my country at the age of 17 in the opening game of the campaign against South Africa. Since then I have earned 11 more international caps, and also signed a contract with Bristol Bears Women for the second season.
