Joe Weatherly
Born in Winchester, Joe is a product of Hampshire’s hugely successful youth system and has represented the county from a young age. Coming through the ranks, Joe regularly impressed the Hants coaching staff with his consistent runs, showing a temperament at the top of the order way beyond his years.
Weatherley, who has a good sporting pedigree as his father Ken played tennis at Wimbledon, enjoyed a very impressive 2015 campaign for the Hampshire Second XI, hitting three hundreds and three fifties at an average of 41.The 22-year-old impressed in a regular spot at the top of the order during the 2018 season, contributing 772 runs across all formats including his first centuries for the Club in both the Specsavers County Championship and Royal London One-Day Cup competitions - the latter of which a competition in which he thrived, helping the Club secure 50-over silverware for the first time in six years.
Having made a positive start in the opening spot again in 2019, including 341 runs in nine Championship innings, Joe suffered a fractured ankle which ended his season in July. Following a successful recovery, Joe is now focused on working on his game ahead of the 2020 campaign.
